Homework

Homework appropriate to the week's learning is given on a Monday and should be handed in the following Monday.

Times tables

As times tables are the key to maths we expect them to be practised regularly. Children in Year 3 should be fluent in 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 8x, and 10x tables as well as their corresponding division facts. Children in Year 4 should also know 6x, 7x, 8x and 9x tables. They should be able to answer questions randomly and at speed. In order to improve their abilities please encourage them to access on line times table test such as Maths Magician and Daily 10, as well as traditionally practising with quick fire oral tests for example.

Spellings

Children will be given spellings with specific spelling rules each week but should also be able to spell all words on the Year 3/4 statutory spellings list.
